For Immediate Release December 16, 2011
There will be dancing and singing to warm your soul and other body parts when He’s My Brother She’s My Sister hit the road to bring their unique brand of musical joy to some of the coldest spots in the USA this January.
Following a “warm-up” show in Las Vegas, Nevada, on January 7, the band hits the slopes of Park City, Utah on January 8, skis through Telluride, Colorado (January 9), Denver, Colorado (January 10), Omaha, Nebraska (January 12), Des Moines, Iowa (January 13), and Chicago, Chillinois (January 14) before catching a little southern warmth in Atlanta, Georgia (January 16) and Chapel Hill, NC (January 17); then head up through Washington, DC (January 18), New York City (NY, NY January 19 and Brooklyn, NY, January 20), New Haven, CT (January 21), Cambridge, Mass (January 22), Chiladelphia, PA (January 24), Cleveland, Ohio (January 26), Columbus, Ohio (January 27), Bloomington, IN (January 28), St. Louis, MO (January 29); and finally back down to balmy Albuquerque, NM (February 1) and ending in Phoenix, AZ on February 2.
Having just emerged from the recording studio, the band will be trying to keep warm by premiering a number of recordings from their upcoming album, which is being produced by Thom Monahan (Devendra Banhart, The Rosewood Thieves, Vetiver, Fruitbats, Little Joy, Beachwood Sparks).
Tickets are on sale at all venues now ( a detailed list of all shows is below). To keep you warm and fuzzy in the meantime, and through the holidays, the band would like to share this special little holiday video.

He’s My Brother She’s My Sister‘s unique yet familiar sound exudes the earnestness of folk, the colorfulness of glam rock, the rawness of blues, the theatrics of cabaret, and the hip shake of rock-a-billy.
Brother and sister Robert Kolar and Rachel Kolar split vocal duties, with Robert on guitar and kick drum and Rachel on tambourine. Their voices range from boisterous to introspective, from breezy to emotive. Lauren Brown adds full-body percussion with her fluid tap-dancing. Oliver Newell plucks the stand up bass with joyous flair. Aaron Robinson plays lead guitar on a lap slide, veering from nuanced psychedelica to American roots riffs.
The band’s infectious rhythms and high energy make the sounds come alive and cause even uninitiated crowds to erupt in dance.
They have toured the US extensively and have shared the stage with The Devil Makes Three, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zero’s, The Blow, Spindrift, Miranda Lee Richards, The Growlers, Local Natives, Frank Fairfield, Tapes N’ Tapes, Alexander, Dawes, Dr. Dog, My Morning Jacket, & many others.
The band’s first full-length album is expected to be released in early 2012.
